Creating Beaded Cemis Workshop: HOSTED BY Inquilinos Boricuas En Acción (IBA)

  • Inquilinos Boricuas En Acción (IBA) 2 San Juan Street Boston, MA, 02118 United States (map)

Organized by Inquilinos Boricuas En Acción (IBA), this workshop is focused on ancient Taíno symbols that remain deeply connected to expressions of Puerto Rican pride and identity.

Happening in connection to Earth Day and Creative Sector Advocacy Week, this is an educational art workshop on the Taíno Earth Mother figure, Atabey. The artist teaching the workshop includes a lot of beadwork, the basics of which she would teach to participants. Participants will learn basic facts about Taíno culture, particularly about Atabey, as well as painting and beadwork skills.

Please contact info@ibaboston.org if you plan to attend.
