Anisa Khatana is a writer, editor, and budding fiber artist working to build community through the arts. Anisa’s deep-rooted belief in the world-building power of arts and cultural organizations started in a dance studio in southwest Ohio, where she was born and raised. They followed this belief to the helm of JumboRaas, a South Asian dance team at Tufts University, where they earned their B.A. in International Literary and Visual Studies with a minor in Japanese. Her experience prior to joining the MASSCreative team includes an internship at art_works, a volunteer research project with Muslim Justice League, over three years of experience as a freelance copywriter and editor, and just as long building relationships and practicing latte art behind the counters of a number of local cafés. As a multidisciplinary hobbyist creative and a queer person in diaspora, Anisa is committed to materially supporting the work of expansive creative changemakers and inviting more people into artistic spaces across the state.
